Play Worker – After School Club
Location: Churchill Primary C of E School
Hours: Monday – Thursday, 3:00 – 6:00 pm

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Play Worker to join our dedicated after-school team, working in partnership with SMC at Churchill Primary C of E School.

This role is both rewarding and fun, providing high-quality wraparound care and creating a safe, engaging environment for children aged 4–11 after school.

About Churchill Wraparound Care

Churchill Wraparound Care was taken on in 2023 as our first Ofsted-approved setting, and it has quickly become a valued part of school life. The provision is managed by Sports Masters Coaching (SMC) and led by Valerie Pain, who runs an efficient, well-organised, and welcoming club for children and families.

Our wraparound care offers a fun, safe, and engaging environment before and after school, filled with creativity, play, and opportunities for children to relax and enjoy themselves. Sessions are led by Valerie, supported by a team of coaches and play leaders, to ensure every child has the best possible experience.

Capacity: We welcome up to 32 children per session.

  • Times:

    • Breakfast Club – 7.45 am until the start of the school day

    • After School Club – from the end of the school day until 6.00 pm

    • Open Monday to Friday, during term time.

  • Snacks & Meals: A healthy breakfast is provided in the morning, and children staying until 6.00 pm receive a light snack after school.

  • Flexibility: Families can make regular bookings or use the club on an ad hoc basis.

  • Integration: In the afternoons, children are able to join Kids’ Club after finishing other school-run activities.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Enthusiastic and creative, with a passion for working with children

  • Able to plan and lead engaging play activities

  • A team player, committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment

  • Experienced in working with children aged 4–11 (preferred, but not essential)
